Caninsulin, an intermediate-acting insulin, contains porcine insulin.
Caninsulin is indicated in the treatment of diabetes mellitus in dogs and cats.
Animals which present with severe ketoacidosis, anorexia and/or vomiting should be stabilized with short acting insulin before beginning treatment with Caninsulin. Stress and irregular extra exercise must be avoided.
