Phenobarbital is used to control epilepsy in your pet.
It may be used alone or in conjuction with other drugs to reduce the number and severity of your pet’s seizures.
Use caution when administering this drug to pets with addison’s disease, kidney disease, liver disease, respiratory abnormalities, or anemia.
Use caution when administering this drug to cats – Risk and severity of side effects, mainly respiratory depression and laboured breathing, increase when Phenobarbital is given to cats. Do not use without the approval of your veterinarian and use exactly the dose your veterinarian recommends.
